3.7v lithium battery

Lithium ion batteries are rechargeable batteries containing lithium ions. The battery works on a principle of ion movement. During use the ions will move from the negative electrodes to the positive electrode, whilst charging the ions move from the positive to the negative electrode. The positive electrode usually consists of a metal oxide; the electrolyte is made up of a lithium salt and an organic solvent.  The electrolyte, usually contains organic carbonates such as ethylene carbonate or diethyl carbonate; they also contain a mixture of complexes of lithium ions. As pure lithium is highly reactive with water, a non-aqueous electrolyte is commonly used. A sealed container seals the lithium and prevents moisture from entering and reacting with it. The lithium batteries contain a protective circuit to limit peak voltage. The battery pack may also contain temperature sensors, voltage converters and voltage tap. These allow for the battery to prevent overheating and to work efficiently under fluctuating voltages.
